Thank you for your interest in competing in the next national Essence Pageant competition.

If there is a state pageant in your state you must first enter the state pageant or you can apply to be a regional title contestant. If you do not have a state pageant you may apply directly to the national pageant as an at-large contestant. Recruitment for 2012 is open and will end July 15, 2012.

How to Apply and our process:

  • TEEN (13-17 YRS)
  • Miss (18-30 YRS)
  • Mrs. (18 and 40 YRS)
  • Ms. (30 and 40 YRS)    
  • CLASSIC Ms. (40-UP YRS)

Step 1- Fill out the application and submit the form Here

Step 2- Make your application fee payment Here

Step 3- Email a 300 DPI Head Shot Photo to info@essencepageant.com. Photos must be clear and high quality and with out a crown on.

Step 4-The pageant office will mail you an Acceptance Letter and  email you a Contestant Handbook

Step 5- Participate in the monthly Contestant Conference Calls to stay connected to the pageant family and to get info and updates

Step 6- (Optional) if you are doing a talent make 2.5 minutes max with 30 second grace period; points will be deducted for talent that exceeds the time limit. There is also a $100 Talent Fee

Step 7- Make sure that you have everything submitted by the deadline of July 1, 2012. Note: A $25 late fee will apply to each late Photo and Ad page.

Step 8- CROWN/SASH Mailing of CROWN/SASH: Please allow 10-15 business days for Sash arrival; 15-20 business days for the crown arrival. Express shipping is available and is subject to surcharge.

Rules Regarding CROWN/SASH: Please do not add rhinestone to your sash unless they come with them on it because it is a distention at the national pageant. If you lose your sash there is a $50 replacement fee. If your crown broke you are responsible for the replacement cost and international shipping fees.  (Essence Pageant State Crown is valued at $300)

  • Entry Fee for 2012 Pageant is $899.00. 
  • The Application Fee is $100 and will be applied to your entry fee and you will receive your state/regional sash.
  • You receive a $100 discount if your entry fee is paid in full  by  May 1, 2012.
  • Entry fee is due July 15, 2012.
