Essence Pageant Princess Program
Essence Pageant is thrilled to announce its first ever Essence Princess Program. This program will be an “all access pass” for girls ages 7 to 12 years old to the Essence Pageant. Essence Princess Program is a mentorship, community service, achievement program for young women. Each Princess will be paired up with two Essence State Titleholders and will receive mentorship throughout their year as a princess and even after the program year is done. This program is about finding mentors for girls to inspire them to be great young women in America. Princesses will part of the Essence Productions Team and also have an opportunity to model a gown on stage pageant weekend.
Selection of the Princesses
- Young ladies that are between the ages of 7 to 12 years old will apply directly to Essence Pageant. Princess can reside anywhere in the USA.
- Good Grade Requirement-“C” Average or Better (final report card to be turned into nationals)
- Agreement to be in the attendance Pageant Weekend
What they receive
- Two Essence Queen mentors that will be their big sisters
- All Access to Activities Pageant Weekend with their big sisters
- Official Production Job Pageant Weekend (Emcee, stage hands, usher, award presenter, etc.)
- Opportunity to Model a Gown on Stage Pageant Weekend
- Official Essence Princess Sash
- Official Essence Princess Crown Pageant Weekend (upon successfully completing the program)
- Official Princess T-shirt
- Gifts from Sponsors
- Autographed Photos from the national titleholder
10. One overall winner will receive a saving bond, the overall winner will be determine based on 25% good grades, 25% appearances/ community service, 25% modeling pageant weekend and 25% activity participation pageant weekend.
11. Memories to last a lifetime!
Items not include in the program fee: Traveling Expense, Hotel, Meals, and Wardrobe
Appearances/Community Service
Princesses are encouraged to make as many appearances throughout their reign. She should be a role model within her community and may go on any appearance with any Essence Queen. One point awarded for each appearance towards winning the overall crown.
Good Grades
A= 25 points
B=20 points
C=15 points
Modeling on Stage
The judges are looking for poise, stage presence, confidence, gown fit and overall beauty.
Activity Participation Pageant Weekend
Princess will get an official job pageant weekend as part of the official Essence Pageant Production Team. Roles include: usher, stage hands, emcees, award presenter, and production assistant.
Program Fee
The program fee is $250 and can be paid by a family member or the applicant can obtain a sponsorship from businesses or friends.
Dress requirement and Activities
Princess can wear any gown of her choice and will be provided with Princess T-shirt for pageant activities.
Completion of the program/Graduation
Completion of the program will conclude pageant weekend on stage with a crowning ceremony for all girls that have met the prior mentioned criteria. From that group of the princesses, one young lady will be selected to be “Miss Princess Essence 2011” and will receive a unique crown and will be our official model and titleholder for the Essence Princess Program. She will receive a trophy and have an official page on the national website.
